5 Healthy Drinks to Keep You Warm

December 9, 2018

Everyone has a favorite warm beverage on cold winter days.  Some can have too many calories.  Other more “grown-up” choices may not be practical during the day.  Here are 5 ideas we’ve chosen from a list collected by The Daily Meal that will do the trick!

Healthy Hot Chocolate

Skip the high-calorie drinks at the coffee shop, and make your own healthy hot chocolate with non-dairy milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, and dark chocolate.  That dark chocolate is great for curbing cravings and is full of antioxidants.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea with a small bit of honey is sure to keep you feeling warm.  Ginger has a way of making you feel warm, and it’s a great ingredient to promote good digestion.

Hot Water with Lemon

It seems almost too easy, doesn’t it?  But sipping on water with lemon both keeps you warm and is a great way to flush the liver and kidneys of harmful toxins.

Warm  Apple Cider with Cinnamon

Warm up a little apple cider, which is packed with vitamin C and iron, and add a dash of cinnamon.  It will both quench your thirst and quiet your sweet tooth in a healthy way!

Green Tea

If you’re looking for something warm without the caffeine jitters, green tea is for you.  Green tea is filled with antioxidants and science has been finding cholesterol lowering benefits, too!
