Our last day in California could not have ended on a better note (no pun intended). This day was dedicated to wine country, with VIP wine tastings ready and reserved for us at Cline Cellars in Sonoma and Raymond Vineyards in Napa. It was a trip that had us completely giddy with excitement! We hopped into our rented red Volkswagen Jetta and weaved our way through morning San Francisco traffic, ultimately looking to cross the Golden Gate Bridge that would take us over the morning sunrise on the bay and guide us through the green valley hills.

After two busy days of exploring downtown San Francisco, we knew we wanted to discover more of the city and its offerings by heading down to the bay and Pier 39. Pier 39, San Francisco To get started we grabbed a simple bagel and fruit plate from the hotel’s Cafe Cento.  Delicious and quick it worked out well as a dine and dash breakfast.

Chef Andy Nighbor is on assignment this week – it’s a tough one. We sent him to San Francisco to check out the food scene there and bring some new ideas back to Fresh Madison Market and his popular cooking classes. He will be traveling to most of the hot dining spots, talking with local chefs about their creations and discuss the new trends.
