A Perfect Winter Recipe: Slow Cooker Pot Roast

We checked out our specials this week and discovered you can bring together a slow-cook pot roast fit for a magazine cover.  Here’s all you’ll need:

  • 3 lb  of Angus Pride Chuck Roast, just $3.99/lb this week
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 oz  dried onion soup mix
  • 1 onion, diced (Large yellow onions are 2/$3)
  • 3 gold potatoes, diced
  • 3 large carrots, chopped
  • ½ cup  water

The beauty of this recipe comes in its simplicity.  Your slow cooker is going to take it from here.  This is what you do next:

Place the chuck roast in a 7-quart slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.

Sprinkle the onion soup pack and top with vegetables and water.

Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4-5 hours.

 

By the time you come home from work, you’ve got a meal for the family.
