An old song claims “it never rains in California… Man, it pours.” Many locals are not used to this kind of downpour, but California farmers know too well what this means. Recent rains in places like Oxnard and Santa Maria are dropping unexpected amounts of precipitation on fruit farms. Particularly hard hit are strawberry farms, which are running extremely short right now. Farms are telling us that supplies just cannot keep up with demand at this time. This is also having an impact on the quality of strawberries, something we are keeping a very close watch on. This shortage may ripple
